Silas Morehouse and Sallie Rawles

Silas Morehouse’s first wife was Sarah “Sallie” Rawles. Silas married Sallie on January 3, 1867, but she died less than a month later on January 24, 1867. On October 7, 1869, Silas married Mary Rawles, who was Sallie's younger sister. Silas and Mary were the parents of Alpha Morehouse.

L. Jennings Morehouse Daybook 1830

I photographed portions of this DAYBOOK, in 2010 at our Morehouse family reunion in Lafayette, Indiana. Most of the entries seem to be written by Levi J. Morehouse, although two of the pages that I have photos of were written by his father Amos.
