In 1876 John Rawles was presented with a Bible by the Mt. Zion Church Sunday School. When he died in 1889, the then called Mt. Zion Sabbath School made this resolution and had it published in the Lafayette, Indiana newspaper.
I just found your blog. My husband is Douglas Rawles, his father Ralph Wann Rawles born in Colorado Springs 1939. Doug has 3 brothers: Jody Rawles , psychiatrist at UC Irvine, Andrew, physical therapist in Oakland, CA. And Lee Rawles, executive at Electronic Arts (EA) now living in Los Angeles. Grandfather was Thomas Rawles. He was an officer in the Rainbow Division in WWII, dean of students at Colorado College, professor of mathematics. Great grandfather was William Rawles, PhD from Columbia University. William was the first dean of the business school at University of Indiana. Great, great grandfather was Lycurgus Rawles
